DockWatcher is a simple iPhone app for Capital Bikeshare riders in Washington, D.C. It helps avoid the annoying problem of losing your Bikeshare dock while en route to your destination.

Just enter an address, and DockWatcher instantly shows the nearest bikeshare dock on an interactive map. It then monitors that station while you’re en route, and lets you know if it runs out of available docks and the next closest station.

The built-in lock on my home’s sliding door broke recently. An opportunity for improvement!

I have hated this lock since I moved in. There’s no key for it–it only locks from the inside. And I’ve never really trusted it would hold up to a good shove. Then it failed completely. As a placeholder, we’d been using a block of wood cut to the same size as the door to lay in the track.
