DockWatcher is a simple iPhone app for Capital Bikeshare riders in Washington, D.C. It helps avoid the annoying problem of losing your Bikeshare dock while en route to your destination.
Just enter an address, and DockWatcher instantly shows the nearest bikeshare dock on an interactive map. It then monitors that station while you’re en route, and lets you know if it runs out of available docks and the next closest station.
I first had the idea for DockWatcher over ten years ago, back when I was using Capital Bikeshare every day to get to work every day in D.C.’s DuPont Circle. I hated wasting time pedaling toward a station that was full by the time I got there.
DockWatcher keeps things simple: fast location lookup, clean design, and reliable data. Whether you’re a daily commuter or an occasional rider, it helps keep you from guessing while you’re en route.
