We finally got our trees, at least the back yard. You are looking at the proud host of a freshly planted catalpa and river birch (the red maple will have to wait till the autumn for planting as none were available).
The river birch will surely be a mighty thing one day.
And the catalpa was a real plot twist, arriving fully denuded but sprouting lush leaves within just a few days after planting.
It’s been growing for a few months now, and already provides a little bit of shade in the July sun, which has been brutal.
I can’t wait to watch them grow up!
